East Detroit High School is a high school in Eastpointe, Michigan (Metro Detroit) which serves students in grades 9-12. It is part of the East Detroit Public Schools district. East Detroit High School currently enrolls about 1,300 students. ==History==
On November 8, 2013, David Zauner, a teacher, dove into a pool to rescue a 14-year-old student who was drowning. The boy died in the hospital four days later. In June 2014 Zauner accused the school district and John Rizzo, the school's assistant principal and athletic director, of retaliating against him for cooperating with a police investigation about the incident; Zauner is suing the district and Rizzo. Senior Antonio Price, also known as Toni Love, has won 5 Regional awards in Scholastics Art and Writing award. He has won 3 Gold Keys and 2 silver keys, all in photography.
